Veterans First Orange County

Furnishing Hope to design and furnish Veterans First Josephine Street facility
in Garden Grove, home to 22 disabled veterans

Furnishing Hope is giving the Veterans First, Josephine Street facility in Garden Grove a facelift during the month February.  Furnishing Hope coordinates and secures designers, delivery trucks, furniture, accessories, construction, plumbing and anything else the facility may need.  Some of the organizations assisting in this effort are Living Spaces, Building Trades Network, Dunn Edwards Paint, and Ben Franklin Plumbers.

It is estimated that 4,600 veterans live on the streets in Orange County.  This number is expected to increase in the months ahead as our young men and women return from their deployment.  Furnishing Hope partners with a number of veterans and active duty organizations to be ready within hours or days to make a home for as many of these warriors and their families as our funds will allow.

The House Quilt Project

A community project - "Welcome Home" The House Quilt Project was started in June of 2010 by working with Furnishing Hope (the company that designs, decorates and furnishes the houses) to make 12Wx16H house quilts for a subdivision of homes for Habitat for Humanity in San Juan Capistrano, CA.  All are original works of art that are unique to the artist who designs and makes them at their own expense.  Pop tops are sewn in the upper corners for easy hanging.  Each artist has their own label on the back that it sewn into place.
